What causes uneven skin tone
UV exposure: Ultraviolet radiation is the primary driver. UV stimulates melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) to produce more melanin. Over time this can lead to freckling, sunspots (solar lentigines) and background hyperpigmentation.
Photoageing: Repeated sun exposure also damages collagen and elastin, disrupting skin structure and making pigment appear more obvious.
