It is one of our favourite pre-event treatments, and works beautifully as a standalone facial or as a preparatory step before IPL or other laser treatments to enhance results.

How the treatment works

Q-Switch 1064nm · 45 minutes · No downtime

The carbon laser facial works in two phases. First, a layer of medical-grade activated carbon is applied to the skin -- the fine carbon particles penetrate into the pores, binding to oil, dead skin cells and impurities. Once the mask is dry, the Q-Switch 1064nm laser is passed over the skin.

The laser energy is selectively absorbed by the carbon particles. As it passes, the carbon -- and everything it has drawn out of the pores -- is vaporised and removed. At the same time, the laser energy reaching the deeper skin layers stimulates collagen production and triggers a gentle rejuvenation response.

The result is a genuinely deep cleanse, noticeably refined pores, and a skin-brightening effect that you can see the same day. The treatment is also deeply relaxing -- the carbon removal phase is quick and comfortable, and the treatment concludes with a personalised mask and a neck, head and shoulder massage.

LED light therapy can be incorporated during the mask phase to support cellular healing and enhance results.

What does the Carbon Laser Facial feel like?

The treatment is comfortable throughout. During the laser removal phase you will feel a warm, snapping sensation as the laser passes over the skin -- most clients find this very tolerable. The mask and massage at the end are deeply relaxing. There is no pain.

Is there any downtime?

None. You can return to normal activities immediately after the treatment. Most clients experience no redness or sensitivity, making this ideal as a pre-event treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

Results are visible the same day. Immediately after treatment the skin looks cleaner, brighter and noticeably more refined. Pores appear smaller, the complexion is more even, and there is a natural luminosity that clients consistently comment on when they leave.

How many sessions do I need?

A single session delivers visible results. For clients with ongoing congestion, oiliness or enlarged pores, a course of 4 to 6 sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart is recommended for sustained improvement. Your therapist will advise at your appointment.

Can the Carbon Laser Facial be combined with other treatments?

Yes. It pairs particularly well as a preparation step before IPL or other laser treatments -- removing surface impurities to allow subsequent treatments to penetrate more effectively. LED light therapy can also be added during the mask phase of the same appointment. Ask about combination options when booking.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

The Carbon Laser Facial is generally well tolerated. If you have very reactive or sensitive skin, please let us know when booking so we can assess suitability and adapt the treatment if needed. A patch test can be arranged if required.
