HIFU Face Lift

HIFU — High Intensity Focused Ultrasound — is a non-invasive treatment that uses precisely targeted ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. Over the weeks following treatment, the skin gradually firms, lifts and tightens as new collagen forms — without needles, incisions or downtime.

At Facial Impressions, Kim specialises in HIFU for facial lifting, contouring and skin refinement. We offer both the deeper Facial Uplift (targeting 3.0mm–4.5mm) and the HIFU Plump (1.5mm) for surface rejuvenation, fine lines and pigmentation — often combined for comprehensive results.

HIFU Facial Uplift

The HIFU Facial Uplift targets the deeper structural layers of the skin — the same layers addressed in surgical facelifts. Focused ultrasound energy is delivered at 3.0mm and 4.5mm depths, where collagen fibres can be stimulated to contract and regenerate. As new collagen develops over the weeks following treatment, the skin gradually becomes firmer, more lifted and better defined.

This treatment is particularly effective for addressing a lowered brow line, loose skin along the jaw and neck, and loss of definition in the cheek and midface area. Results develop progressively over 2 to 6 months as the new collagen matrix reaches its full strength.

Kim recommends a consultation before your first HIFU Facial Uplift to assess your skin and discuss your goals. A personalised treatment plan — which may include a single full-face treatment or a series of targeted sessions — will be recommended at that consultation.

What HIFU Facial Uplift Addresses

Brow lift and forehead firming
Cheek lift and midface definition
Jaw line sculpting and contouring
Double chin and neck tightening
Eye area and hooded lids
Nasolabial folds — softens

A consultation with Kim is recommended before your first HIFU Facial Uplift. She will assess your skin, discuss your goals and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan for you.

HIFU Plump

The HIFU Plump targets the upper layers of the dermis at a shallower depth of 1.5mm — addressing fine lines, surface texture and skin tone rather than deeper structural lifting. As the ultrasound energy stimulates collagen regeneration at this level, the skin's surface becomes more refined and even, with improved radiance and reduced pore size over time.

The HIFU Plump is particularly well suited to fine lines around the eyes, lips and forehead, as well as pigmentation concerns and scarring. It can be performed as a standalone treatment or combined with the HIFU Facial Uplift for a comprehensive approach across multiple depths.

Results are typically visible within 2 to 4 weeks and the HIFU Plump can be repeated every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain skin condition, depending on your skin type and age.

What HIFU Plump Addresses

Fine lines around eyes, lips and forehead
Skin plumping, firming and toning
Surface texture refinement and pore reduction
Pigmentation
Scarring including acne scarring

HIFU Plump can be combined with the HIFU Facial Uplift in a single appointment for comprehensive results across both surface and deeper skin layers. Ask Kim about combination treatment options at your consultation.

Who Is HIFU Suited To?

HIFU is generally suited to clients who have noticed a softening or loosening of the skin — a lowered brow line, less defined jaw, or skin that has begun to lose its firmness. Clients in their late thirties and older with mild to moderate skin laxity are typically good candidates.

HIFU is also appropriate for clients who want to take a proactive approach to skin ageing before significant laxity develops, or who are looking to maintain results following cosmetic procedures.

A consultation with Kim is always the first step. She will assess your skin, discuss your medical history and goals, and advise whether HIFU is appropriate for you. Not all clients are suited to HIFU — contraindications include active skin conditions, certain implants and pregnancy.

Please note: HIFU is not suitable for everyone. Contraindications include active skin conditions, certain implants and pregnancy. Kim will advise on suitability at your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

HIFU uses an acoustic lens to concentrate multiple intersecting beams of ultrasound energy precisely on a target point deep within the skin. Each individual beam passes through tissue without effect — but at the focal point where the beams converge, the combined energy creates a precise, localised thermal response. This triggers the body's natural collagen-building process at that specific depth.
Treatment time varies depending on the area being treated. A full face and neck Uplift takes 2.5 hours. Targeted treatments — such as Hollywood Eyes+ or Plump Lip — take 30 to 45 minutes. Your treatment time will be confirmed at your consultation.
There is no required downtime following HIFU. You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment. Some clients experience temporary flushing, mild redness or slight tenderness in the treated area — these are normal responses and typically resolve within a few hours.
Some clients notice an initial change immediately after treatment. The most significant changes typically become visible over the following 2 to 6 months as new collagen develops. For the HIFU Plump, changes are often visible within 2 to 4 weeks. How long results last depends on your individual collagen-building response and natural ageing process — most clients benefit from a treatment every 6 months to 2 years.
HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to the precise depth where collagen production occurs, at the optimal temperature to initiate neocollagenesis — the body's process of producing new collagen. The treatment works with your body's own natural repair mechanisms. No fillers, toxins or external substances are used.
As the ultrasound energy is delivered you will feel small amounts of warmth or tingling being deposited at precise depths. Comfort levels vary between clients — the sensation only occurs while the treatment is actively being delivered. Kim takes care to work at a pace and pressure that suits each client.
Most clients require one treatment every 6 months to 2 years, depending on their age, degree of skin laxity and individual collagen-building response. Some clients benefit from additional sessions. Kim will advise on the most appropriate schedule for your skin at your consultation.
The skin may appear temporarily flushed after treatment. Mild redness, slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch can occur — these are temporary responses and generally resolve within a few hours. Less commonly, some clients experience temporary bruising or numbness in small areas. Any concerns should be discussed with Kim before or after treatment.
HIFU pricing at Facial Impressions depends on the area being treated and the modality used. Treatments start from $203 for targeted Plump treatments through to $2,888 for a full face and neck HIFU Uplift. A full pricing menu is available on this page. We recommend booking a consultation first so Kim can recommend the most appropriate treatment and provide a personalised quote. Call us on 02 9918 7288 or book a consultation online.
HIFU is a non-invasive treatment and is not a substitute for surgical procedures. It works at a similar depth to surgical facelifts but does not replicate the outcomes of surgery. It is an option for those who prefer a non-invasive approach, and can also be used to complement and extend the results of surgical procedures. Kim will discuss whether HIFU is appropriate for your goals at your consultation.
